I am happy to report that the boardwalk is back in the yard. It stacked up as cleanly as possible in two spots. I met some nice people in the course of the day and overheard some conversations that made me think that there are adults who should not be allowed to use silverware. This was the easiest I have ever rolled up this rug. I might have this thing figured out at last.

The copper cladding has begun on the new lantern room. I was surprised at the decision to do that work here rather than in the Essex shop but it has created a terrific buzz for the project. The work that can be done at street level should wrap up in the early part of the week and then some staging will be placed to allow the panels to be installed on the top. A really affable guy named Bob Ditullio is on the job and you can find an interview of him conducted by the Town’s cable access people here.

Bob shared that when the room is placed on top of the Tower, plywood will be installed as a base for the copper that will clad the catwalk. I just ordered and received a new flag to run up the flag pole when that catwalk and bracket are restored to their place. There remains a brick facade to be installed to cover the concrete. The Town Administrator shared that the painting of that facade will probably take place in the spring. It seems the only thing that happens in a hurry is the weather so I am hoping that the next month will see the scaffolding dismantled to clear that space for the waves that are surely coming.
