A Milestone

I was reviewing the blog this morning when I came on two things that made the day start right.

The first was a note from Word Press that you see below. This number is actually low as this blog was posted on another site for the first twelve years. We had over 500,000 views (571,112) on that site. I never thought to check it until this morning. It seems people still visit it from time to time.

Congratulations! Your site, The Lightkeeper’s Blog, passed 100,000 all-time views.

The second thing to put a bounce in my step was a comment that you can find in its entirety in that tab. A Scituate High School Class of 77 grad wrote to let me know that the blog took him home from time to time and that he was a long way away and enjoyed the connection back to this coast from his coast in Hawaii. I am hard to surprise but that was a great turn. I suspected that Celtics fans were everywhere but know I can be sure of it.

Will 2026 push up the number to a million views? Could that happen as we celebrate the 70th anniversary of the grounding of Etrusco here. I logged on this morning to see just where on the blog I could post the new research I have been doing on that event. As time unfolds fewer and fewer will be able to tell the story; I have had a blast telling it for the past 17 years and hope to add some layers to it with this research.

Keep checking back – for the cameras, the photographs and the story of Etrusco. Lets hit a million views.
