Scituate Light

Welcome to a relatively new blog site. I made a shift over to a more versatile host that could let me do more than the former host could. I can experiment some and find new ways to share the stories. All the old posts are still here at the Current Posts link. The Archive link allows a search of posts. Put a term in the search bar and see what you get or search by month if you are chasing down a storm or an anniversary.

Additionally, there are now two photo galleries, one with historical images and others from our tenure here. There is also a link to a You Tube Channel.

Access to the most recent posts is found below and other links, including the web cams, from the menu above.

The contractor hired to restore Scituate Light visited last Wednesday and that prompted me to get going pulling out wires for the different cameras that remained inside the Tower. The Seawall Camera and the Inside the Light camera were the two that remained in place and I was able to pull them down and back […]

      3. Hello Mark

The project is just going out to bid in the next week or so. Then a new room is going to be built, perhaps off site, with new copper and better windows. There is interior work to be done to be sure the new top goes onto a solid base. It could be late in the summer before we see the whole reassembled. Happy New Year to the Lawtons.

  7. Hi Bob …I am writing to let you know that none of the cameras are streaming at the moment. They all are asking for username and password…which I enter, but it still no allowing access. Thanks for all the cameras…loving checking in every once in a while and seeing the ocean!

  8. I am working on it. I think it is a conflict between the cameras and a virus software update.

  9. My Great Aunt Jesse and her husband were caretakers of the lighthouse, per family history. Do you have any information on the caretakers throughout the history of the lighthouse?
