Tern, Tern, Tern

Once again there is a new look to the blog. New colors, fonts, navigation are in place. This has become a summer ritual.

You can access the Hank Stahr cameras as always with the first link in the menu. There is a new camera in place for the Mouth of the Harbor as the prior camera had trouble holding focus. The biggest change is that the Galleries and the Etrusco stories are now linked to sub menus you can access by clicking on the down arrow next to the name.

I hope to stick with this look for a while but if I find out it is clumsy to use I can dial up another template and go back to work.

The title of this blog comes from what has been the story of the last 10 days. A bird, specifically a bridal tern, has caused a sensation here on Cedar Point. There have been a great number of cameras and binoculars from sun rise to sun set. I am told there is an app which shares out information for bird watchers. This app created an ornithological flash mob outside the Lighthouse.

Last Saturday a couple was having their portrait done with their newborn when the bird settled on the woman’s back.

A day or two later a restaurant critic, in town to check out Lucky Finn, posted a video of the bird alight on a very disappointed photographer’s massive zoom lens. Can’t get the shot with the bird on the lens.

Check out that reel here

Julie got this one on Monday.

Seventy years ago, the story was Etrusco and Elvis and traffic and the optimism of 1956. To steal (and modify) an old song: To everything tern, tern, tern. There are also a family of rabbits of all sizes that have visitors oohing and aahing outside my window.

I hope the new look and cleaned up navigation is a help to my loyal readers.
