We were appointed to this spot on August 12, 2008. That makes us almost 18.

The Luminaria will be held on Friday night. If you have not been here for one, think about making the ride. There is a boat parade along side the lighting of the coast. Past posts over the years can be found in the Archive. The first year, 2009, was eye opening.

Heritage Days will be held this Saturday and Sunday. Julie and I will welcome guests each day from 1:00 to 4:00. The Scituate Historical Society has asked that each adult donate $3.00 for the visit. Once again we will be making the runway and Tower available for the stories that each hold and opportunities for pictures. While no one accesses the top of the Light, very few come down disappointed after their 32 step climb.

I have begun painting the white fence. Nearly all of the parking lot or ocean side of the house is complete. Work will begin on the harbor side next Monday. There is nothing like a good white wash to clean things up.

This summer has seen the phenomenon of the tern and another novelty. Two different coffee trucks are setting up shop and each has a persistent following. The lines are long and the chatter is happy. On three occasions the barrels I set out to compliment the Town barrels have filled up after the Town has come by to empty them. Thankfully the gentlemen at the Transfer station let me dispose of those bags without a fee.

We have a new stove and for this I would like to thank Nancy Holt, Michelle Seghezzi, and Bob Chessia. I made the visit to Town Hall on a Monday. By Friday George Washington Toma was delivering and installing. Very much needed and we are grateful for how streamlined all the parties made this switch happen. I had bought the last stove 12 or 13 years ago and found that I did not need to buy this replacement. Win and win on the new range.
