Shining Things Up

I took some time today to update this blog. A new look. Bigger photographs. Cleaned out some pictures that did not need to be here anymore. Changed the links to the cameras to make that process more clear. I found the statistics for the last two years. And the Black and White photography has its own link now.

52, 475 views. 15,043 viewers. 304 posts. I was pleased to see how many comments there were. That had not been as clear to me as it probably should have been.

This is the state of the tower today. It is being filled up with a grout 18 inches at at time. The crew has completed the granite portion and most of the lower bricks that had not been removed. Tuesday they will continue with the new bricks and the gap left between the concrete pours and the outer facade. They need heat to do that and have brought in the tools and the generators to provide that heat. Word on the street is that the railing for the catwalk could be in place this time next week as well. That has to be installed in place as the catwalk is not a perfect hexagon.

The weather did knock over the fence last week but we have another month before the next big tide could really get things moving around. Once again there will be superstitions called upon to protect the house and cars.

The great guy who did all the copper, Bob Ditullio, helped me get this back in place just before he wrapped up his work up top. Some of those photos are included in the Lantern Room gallery.

Thanks go out to Shawn Harris Enterprises and to ABC Equipment. The former rallied right over when told our heat had not come back on when power was restored. The latter came through with a very quick turnaround of our generator which was not running well at all Monday into Tuesday. Our final shout out is to Johnny C who both picked up and returned the generator to ABC. No muss or fuss with Johnny.
