Spring 2026

Plants have been put in place. A mix of perrenials and annuals dot the gardens. Some seeds are pushing sprouts through. Rose bushes and daisies have been cut back. There remains weeding still in the future.

All signs of spring. As I have been working in the yard I have shared with guests just how crowded things were here 70 years ago with Etrusco aground.

Mothers Day weekend saw a tremendous turn out for the Empower Her event that is in its third or fourth year here. It was not to the levels of Etrusco but it was more people than I have ever seen here.

There were at least two thousand visitors here on a Friday night with music, food trucks, and a luminaria in memory of both moms and dads. The organizers left the place in pristine condition; something deeply appreciated by the Lightkeeper.

The windows in the tower which were a source of concern this past winter have been repaired. Thanks go out to Gigi Mirarchi, Bob Chessia, and Greg Campbell for making that happen.

Another page has been added to the Etrusco story. This one goes deep into the Globe and Scituate Herald for details that come forward in Scituate and in United States history. The plot does not thicken but come the summer of 1956 it will.
